RIDDOR — reportable injuries and diseases

Decision support for the Responsible Person's duty to report work-related deaths, specified injuries, over-7-day incapacitation, specified occupational diseases, dangerous occurrences and gas incidents to the HSE under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013.

RIDDOR notification is the employer's / Responsible Person's duty and is distinct from a worker's own IIDB prescribed-disease claim to the DWP. For the full prescribed-disease list and fitness routing, see Fitness for work.

How to report to the HSE

  • Online (standard route): hse.gov.uk/riddor — complete the appropriate form (F2508 for injuries/diseases/dangerous occurrences).
  • By phone (fatal & major incidents only): HSE Incident Contact Centre 0345 300 9923 (Mon-Fri 08:30-17:00).

Under the physician's clinical judgement

This wizard is decision support only. RIDDOR notification is the duty of the employer / Responsible Person and is distinct from a worker's IIDB claim to the DWP, which the worker initiates. The clinician's role is to make and record the diagnosis; the reporting decision and submission rest with the Responsible Person. No patient data is stored.
